Happy St David's Day!
It's good to have entered the month when Spring starts in earnest.
The day has started bright and cold with a heavy frost. The sky is a hazy pale blue changing to grey over the hills to the north, where a mist shrouds the higher ground.
The highlight of bird activity in the garden yesterday was a brief visit of a male Blackcap Sylvia atricapilla.
The pair of Magpies Pica pica continue to haul twigs 1 or 2 times their own body length into the developing nest platform in the tall Hawthorn tree.
The Sparrows Passer domesticus are beginning to show approval of the return to Black Sunflower seed
