White Rumps

A fresh southerly wind averaging speeds of around 25 mph and gusts touching 30 mph kept the actual air temperature, which at mid day peaked at 10.8 C, pegged back to feel just about 7 celsius according to the Shoreham statistics.
After a dry spell in the morning, rain set in by lunch time.

Three white rumped deer were spotted in the fields overlooked by Lancing College and close to Ricardo's test strip at around 10 am. Roe deer are frequently seen around the Adur levels and these fitted the book description.
