Water Rail

I have a report from Cokeham Reed Beds where Water Rail Rallus aquaticus have been active and vocal every day during the last week of February.
On the First of March three birds were seen by two observers close to a duck weed coated water channel. The area can be seen in the linked image, unfortunately a camera was not to hand at the time.
It is understood to have been two males competing for the attentions of a female.
