White Dust

In a very gentle breeze a thin dusting of snow fell at breakfast time which rapidly gave way to bright blue sky. Grey cloud continues to lurk from over the downs, further flurries look possible.
The soggy turf around my pond is being excavated by the Magpies to line their cradle in the Hawthorn.
The female Blackcap reappeared briefly, she took a few pecks at the fat plastered into nooks of the Crab Apple and flew off toward the shelter of neighbouring Leylandii trees. Looking plumped up against the increasing wind she returned briefly to forage on the ground where scraps of fat get dropped by the more messy feeding Starlings.
