A fresh south westerly wind brought in a trickle of clouds bearing showers of rain and hail. The interludes were pleasant spells of sunshine into which spring invertebrate wildlife was drawn to take to the wing.
As I took control of an overgrown Buddleia, a Brimstone butterfly fluttered past me following the warmth of an adjacent heat reflective wall.
Blackbirds are getting more active and can be seen scurrying around in the undergrowth of shrubby brushwood.
They are particularly appreciative of sliced apple, these may ones that have just past their best for our enjoyment, Blackbirds are not as fussy. Even an apple core will be appreciated.
