South westerly strong breeze to near gale wind and continuous rain and drizzle today. A temperature of 10.3 C was reached at 11:35 this morning and gradually fell until mid afternoon when the rain slowly cleared and wind faded away. By 5pm sun has broken through and the temperature rallied to a nearly respectable 11.6 Celsius.
An unexpected bird visitor to the garden this morning by a Chiffchaff Phylloscopus collybita.
It came within 1.5 metres of the kitchen window during a quick reconnaissance of the garden. The resemblance to a Willow Warbler gives me a small reservation over the identity. I would give a 90% certainty value.
