Friday: A good day while the sun shone although it felt quite cool when a cloud passed over.
A high of 13.6 C was recorded on the Shoreham Beach weather station.
For about an hour in early afternoon the heat of the direct sun was at times warm enough to roll up the sleeves and take the coat off.
Working on a garden in Sompting a White butterfly fluttered past me too quickly to positively confirm it as a Small white.
Returning to Lancing another one was sighted on a garden where a mass of Aubretia was in full bloom.
While I worked hard, the rest of the family took a trip to nearby Mill Hill Shoreham and were lucky to catch a good view of a freshly emerged Emperor Moth
