The dramatic heat improvement has boosted plant growth activity and is evident throughout the garden.
Water Forget-me-not and Brooklime in the pond have put on up to two inches in the past two or three days.
The Sparrows have been working at a feverish pitch to complete their nests.

A favourite component for them, has been the soft white seed heads of Pampas Grass. I rescued a large bunch these from a neighbour who was cutting them from his plant.
I pushed the canes into the foliage of a large Box shrub so that the seed heads are poking out like some outdoor Ikebana arrangement.
The birds have regularly collected beakfuls of the material and are reminiscent of little mandarins with white whiskers as they carry the fluffy seed off to furnish the nests.
