Frog Log

A slightly bizarre phenomenon occurred in the garden this evening as the rain began.
The weather has been humid and cloudy all afternoon, the sense of storminess was building as we waited for the inevitable.
I don't know if the frogs felt it too but as soon as rain began, half a dozen of them appeared on the lawn. Some of them had hauled out of the pond others from their shelter in the surrounding greenery. With unhurried purpose some headed for the area at the edge of the garden where stacked pots would normally conceal slugs, which in the fading light of the day and freshly wetted ground would also leave their shelters to find food, others hopped towards the house and paved patio. Within about ten minutes they had all dispersed.
One or two frogs out on the lawn in the evening is normal but this evening for a short time there seemed to be frogs everywhere.
