From references on other web sites I have ID these as Eupeodes corollae.
The fly on the top right appears to have the same markings but is a little smaller.
The folowing comment was recieved from Paul Beuk on the UK-Hoverflies forum
"Hoverflies with aphidophagous larvae can show quite some variation in size. When 'mummy' deposited an egg near a rather poor aphid colony, then 'junior' would have had little to eat and consequently be smaller than a sibling whose egg was deposited near a nice and large aphid colony.
