A common cornfield plant cropped up in a town garden where I maintain the lawns.

My policy is always to be sympathetic to wildlife, these flowers were not mowed.

Mowing lawns on a two week rotation allows lawn flowers such as
White Clover, Birds-foot Trefoil and Self Heal to flourish.
But they have to be cut eventually, the blades of my mower are
set high enough to de-head the flower without damaging the plant.
A new set of flowers emerge a few days later. The insect population are
deprived for only a short time.Posted by Hello
