Areas of Sussex experienced flash floods on Thursday and Friday as a low pressure system brought heavy rain, thunder and lightning to the county.
Saturday has been dry with some sun but cooler than the past week. Blocks of Cumulus clouds drift across the sky on a light breeze.
The Hawthorn flowering has peaked and after the rain battered them loose, white petals now cover the ground under the tree as if light snow has fallen.
Near the pond the Ragged Robin Lychnis flos-cuculi has begun flowering and yellow tips are showing in the Flag Iris Iris pseudacorus buds.
I'm pleased to see the Sparrows supplementing their diet of Black Sunflower seed with Aphids from the flower heads of my Viburnum shrubs.
There are two young Sparrows attentively following the parents who supply sunflower seeds with the husks removed, a skill they have yet to master.
