Spring is merging into early summer and I am so wrapped up in work that I have barely had time to see it happen.
The warm wet weather of the past few weeks has created the perfect conditions for lush growth in the gardens, fields and meadows.
This has been to the benefit of the spring Buttercups in the meadow at Lancing Ring. The meadow tapestry is made up of three main colours; the green in many shades from the young foliage of many species of herbs and grasses; yellow from the Buttercups, Bird's foot trefoil and Yellow Rattle; blue from the Germander Speedwell.
Additional highlights are added with the clumps of white May blossom.
Common Blue and Holly Blue butterflies add flickers of movement to the picture.
