Sparrowhawk v. Starlings

Sparrowhawk v. Starlings

In the wilds of West Yorkshire the Sparrowhawks are on the trail of careless Starlings that might take their eye off the sky for a second too long.

Not very Lancing. How many Starlings are there in Lancing?

I counted 550 in a field in Shoreham, but this was only part of the flock, which could be as many as 900. Somewhere between 600 and 900 fly over my house in Shoreham every day. There might be ten flocks of this size.
