Malthouse Meadow

A brief visit to Malthouse Meadow which I have to pass on the way from a job seemed unpromising as the wind had begun to increase and clouds were rolling in.
There were Meadow Brown and Gatekeeper butterflies as expected, a few Whites and occasionally a Common Blue. The ubiquitous Grasshoppers were present but made little noise. A dark shape on a leaf drew me to look closer to find a Dark Bush Cricket.
At the top of the Meadow I decided there was little more to hope to see and then a Brown Argus butterfly settled close by and allowed me just one photograph before it became impatient and took off.
