The tall fragrant Fennel plant in the front garden is now a magnet to the neighbourhood Hoverflies.
This morning there are around twenty hoverflies flitting around the flat umbelliforous flowers. Most of them are the ubiquitous Marmalade Fly, others including Scaeva are apparently taking the nectar from the flowers.
