Lancing Nature | habitats

Lancing Nature | habitats

Interesting short visit to Mill hill on Sunday.

In the heady atmosphere of blossoming Horseshoe Vetch on the sheltered lower slope, sightings included Adonis Blue, Brimstone, Dingy Skipper, Wall Brown, Small Heath butterflies. A glossy green Beetle of the Cryptocephalus genus, most likely is the species aureolus.
A Deer on the meadow below the hill feeding a calf
A Kestrel mobbed by crows while hovering over what we later had reason to believe to have been a Stoat. Rabbits were also in the vicinity.
