Hawthorn in the green

The rush into an early spring seems to have had the brakes applied with a spell of cold weather much more typical of late January.
Recent temperatures have struggled to reach 5 degrees celsius although until today there has been periods of sunshine that made being outside preferable to being stuck indoors in a north facing room.
The temperature has rallied today and climbed to about 7C but the consequence is cloud and drizzly rain.
In nearby Durrington a sign of the mild weather has been a Hawthorn that has been prompted into bud burst on just a few branches
