Birds in the bushes

Bright day with misty blue sky. A light cold NE breeze. Temperature just below 10C.
Garden Sparrows have noticed the freshly cleaned bird bath and are taking full advantage.
A short visit to the area around Old Salts Farm which is used as Horse grazing paddocks. In one paddock a Grey Wagtail bobbed around the piles of Horse Dung picking off any fly that appeared.
The Freshbrook stream meanders through here. About six Moorhen were seen around its margins.
Near the entrance to Old Salts Nursery stands a line of Willow, I think they are the brittle Salix fragilis or Crack Willow.
Devoid of leaves they still provide an effective shelter belt and roost for a variety of birds.
I saw that there was a group of maybe eight Collared Dove in one nearby tree, others were spotted in small groups in Elder and Hawthorn bushes.
A group about six Goldfinch were clustered in a shady part of a tree near the gate.
I was reminded that the area is privately owned by a chap who called out to me "can I help you", I said "not really" and went over to him and reassured him that I was not intent on any wrong doings but merely interested in the wildlife in this area. He seemed satisfied and said that was Ok.
