It is a calm morning, a blanket of low greyish cloud has cast a gloomy light over Lancing.
The resident Sparrows are occassionally feeding but with no sense of urgency.
From the higher vantage point of the upstairs windows I can see that a dispersed flock of Starlings are occupying perches on the surrounding roof tops, TV arials and tree tops. At regular intervals the alarmed birds take to the air, fly round a bit and settle nearby.
