A strong gale force wind blew it's way across the county on the 23rd, a gust was recorded at 60 mph at Shoreham weather station.
Locally, reports of fallen trees came from nearby Worthing.
The seaside resorts famed flower beds on the seafront were blasted with the salt-laden wind and have been left in sad state.
In our sheltered garden the fixtures are mostly unscathed although the top of the Hawthorn has suffered some wind scorching and is looking a little browned on the windward side.
The nesting Bumble-bees were much less active and only flew when the wind was calmer.
Sparrows mostly seemed undettered from feeding even when the feeders were blowing to a horizontal angle in the gusts.
