Thin scattered cloud this morning, some thicker patches.
A few vapour trails visible in windows of hazy blue sky.
Still cold, less than 5C this morning. Wind is very light.
A male and female Blackbird have begun visiting the garden, there is usually some fruit on the ground such as an apple or some dried raisins.
A Robin finds a perch and scans the ground below, sometimes it likes to stand on the tyre of a wheelbarrow, overseeing a patch of ground where something to eat may be moving about.
The seed feeder is presently unattended, I am convinced that the birds are not impressed with the wild seed mix. I am going to restock with Black Sunflower seed next time.
A large pair of Crows sit in one of the Hawthorn Trees in conflict with the Magpies which continue to embelish the platform at the top of the tree.
The Frog Spawn I collected from the frozen pond yesterday has been moved into a light position in the shed, it would be too warm too keep it in the house.
The pond had a light glaze of ice this morning but has mostly cleared. In an effort to keep frost off, I have placed a sheet of garden fleece over the pond where the spawn rests. I'm not sure if the effect will be significant.
