Bright, cold day but a menacing grey cloud is looming from the north east.
Snow has fallen many areas of the country and is forecast to be heading this way over the next 24 hours.
The garden pond has been consistently frozen for a week now. I am glad to have taken the precaution of removing some spawn to a warmer spot in the garden shed.
The birds have taken to ice skating when in search of a drink. I have watched a Blackbird, cautiously at first, step onto the ice and proceed to a melted hole and take a drink from it.
I have replaced the wild bird seed mix with a fresh supply of Black Sunflowers, interest has not been drastically renewed yet but there are signs.
